No really! The subject line is a little misleading, as you have to
run RAT in a virtual machine running Linux, but nevertheless it is
now doable and runs much faster than you would expect.
If you install the free VMWare Player: http://www.vmware.com/
products/player/
you can then run RAT on windows by downloading this virtual machine:
http://nu.ph.utexas.edu/bw/private/rat/ratdemo-0.1.zip (1.2 GB!!)
You should have at least 5 GB of free disk space and > 256 MB of
memory for this to work well. Unzip the file and double click on
the .vmx file inside. Once it boots, you can log in with user
"braidwood" and the usual password. RAT 0.1 has been preinstalled.
You can also fetch the virtual machine using rsync, which is good in
case you have to resume an interrupted download later:
rsync -tvP braidwood@nu.ph.utexas.edu::rat/ratdemo-0.1.zip ./
password is the usual.
