Departmental Lecturer
 

The Subdepartment of Particle Physics, University of Oxford, is seeking an
outstanding physicist to play a major role in any of the areas of particle
physics currently in our programme. We wish to appoint a highly-qualified
person as a Departmental Lecturer, for a fixed term of up to 6 years.
This opportunity results from the appointment of Professor B. Foster as
European Director of the Global Design Effort for the International Linear
Collider (ILC).

 

Oxford is currently involved in the following projects: ATLAS; CDF; the
CRESST
experiment searching for Dark Matter at Gran Sasso; eScience and the
GRID, both
inside particle physics and in wider applications; preparations for the
ILC,
including accelerator R&D in the Adams Institute for Accelerator Science
and
silicon sensor development in the LCFI project; LHCb; Neutron EDM
measurements
at ILL; MINOS; development of aspects of a Neutrino factory including
the MICE
experiment; possible reactor-based neutrino experiments; SNO; ZEUS.
